ASME Foundation India to Host EFx® India 2026 at LNMIIT Jaipur
JAIPUR, India (January 12, 2026) — ASME Foundation India will host EFx® India 2026, its flagship engineering festival, at The LNM Institute of Information Technology (LNMIIT) in Jaipur, January 16 through 18. The three-day event will bring together engineering students, educators and industry professionals for innovation, hands-on learning and real-world problem-solving.
The upcoming event has drawn interest from across the country, with 55 teams of engineering students registered from 19 states, including Kerala, Odisha, Delhi, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh. EFx India 2026 aims to promote collaboration between students and industry while offering students exposure to emerging technologies and engineering challenges.
One of the event’s key highlights will be “Gear Up FEME — Where Her Ideas Take Shape,” a women-only engineering challenge led by ASME Women in Engineering. The initiative will feature a four-hour CAD and simulation challenge in which participants will work under pressure to solve a surprise design problem revealed on site. Teams will be required to submit CAD models, simulation results and professional engineering documentation.
The festival also will include a workshop titled “Robotics in the Age of AI: Moving From Automation to Autonomy,” led by Arjun Prakash and Ragav Krishna of Nebula Knowledge Laboratory. The session will focus on the role of artificial intelligence in robotics and autonomous systems.
EFx India 2026 organizers anticipate participation from academicians and industry professionals representing institutions and organizations such as IIT Ropar, Boeing, Giesecke & Devrient and Siemens Energy India, providing opportunities for interaction between academia and industry.
Avni Malhotra, Deputy Director of ASME Foundation India, said, “EFx India is designed to give students exposure to practical engineering challenges that mirror real-world environments. By bringing together students, academic leaders and industry professionals on one platform, the event encourages collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving skills that are essential for early-career engineers.”
The event is supported by official partners GAIL and The Welding Institute (TWI), strengthening industry engagement and practical exposure for participating students.
The upcoming EFx will mark the return of the ASME Engineering Festival to LNMIIT Jaipur, which last hosted the event in 2017. With its focus on innovation, inclusion and experiential learning, EFx India 2026 seeks to strengthen engagement between academia and industry while supporting the development of future engineers.
