ASME Foundation India Brings Together 200 Engineering Students FromAcross India for Innovation Event in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, November 23, 2024 – The ASME Foundation India (AFI) organised the ASME EFx 2024 at Vasavi College of Engineering (VCE) on Saturday, bringing together over 200 engineering students from across India. The one-day event served as a vibrant platform for hands-on learning, innovation, and networking, equipping future engineers with critical skills for an AI-driven world.
EFx, a global series of events powered by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), combines technical challenges with opportunities to develop soft skills and entrepreneurial thinking. This year’s competitions awarded ₹1.25 lakh in cash prizes:
Student Design Competition (SDC)
1st Prize: Team Noivern (KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, Karnataka), $500.
- Members: Devashish Gojagekar, Fiona Dzouza, Savita Patil, Om Kundgolkar.
2nd Prize: Team OctaKnight (KLS GIT, Karnataka), $300.
- Members: Prathamesh Raikar, Shubhankar Chinchanikar, Shreyas Arjunwadkar, Laxmikant Bidari.
3rd Prize: Team Jvalan (SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tamil Nadu), $150.

Elevator Pitch Competition
1st Prize: Samreeddhi Pani (VCE, Hyderabad), $250.
- Pitch: Redefining urban living with green infrastructure and IoT for thriving communities.
2nd Prize: Shubhankar Chinchanikar (KLS GIT, Belagavi), $150.
- Pitch: Simplifying green infrastructure with water harvesting and solar usage.
3rd Prize: Suheera Syed Ahmed (VCE, Hyderabad), $75.
- Pitch: Sustainable ideas like rooftop gardens, pocket forests, and vending machines for saplings.
Quizzy Buzzers
1st Prize: Team K (VCE, Hyderabad), ₹2,400.
- Members: Ravi Teja, Aravindh, Rohith Chary, Manohar, Rahul, Sai Kumar.
2nd Prize: Team Skull (VCE, Hyderabad), ₹1,600.
- Members: Snigdha, Chaitra, Sampada, Soukya, Sai Vaibhav.
3rd Prize: Team Kratos (VCE, Hyderabad), ₹1,200.
- Members: Abhiram Sathvik, Suheera, Mubashir, Habeeb.
The event featured a professional seminar by Dr. P Chandrashekar of 7S Technologies and a keynote by Dr. Jaiteerth R Joshi of DRDL, focusing on interdisciplinary innovation and national missions. Judges included esteemed experts from DRDL, IIT Hyderabad, and ISRO.
